UDZUNGWA MOUNTAINS NATIONAL PARK
Gazetted in 1992,
Udzungwa is home to several endangered emdemics including three primate, two
bird, and numerous plant and invertebrate species. Udzungwa is seldom-visited
and offers many opportunities for hiking. Udzungwa is part of the Eastern Arc
Mountain Range, one of the world's 20 top biodiversity hotspots. The mountain
range is sometimes referred to as the 'Galapagos of Africa' due to its large
number of endemic species.
